Construction relating to the Broadway St. Improvement Project, which now includes the installation of a 48-inch storm sewer, will commence Monday, April 28.
According to Senior Project Manager Doug Skylis, of Rowe Inc., the project is expected to be completed by mid-June. Depending on the work being performed at various times during the project, residents and motorists can expect intermittent street closures, he said.
The Oxford Village Council April 2 approved adding a 48-inch storm sewer to the project at a cost of $171,000. Skylis said the storm sewer will ‘provide additional capacity for future development.? He said it will service the southeast parking quadrant and any future alleyway development.
The Broadway St. Improvement Project includes reconstructing the road between S. Washington and Glaspie to make it a two-lane road with curbs and gutters on both sides; installing a new water main (which began last fall and is now 75 percent complete); installing new driveway approaches to replace those which are currently unpaved or disturbed by construction work.
The entire Broadway St. Improvement Project will cost the village $736,000. ? Editor C.J. Carnacchio.
