Police investigating local armed robbery

The Oxford Police Department is investigating the armed robbery of the Heckle & Jeckles Party Stop, located at 27 N. Washington St, that occurred on Friday, April 18.
At around 11:45 p.m., a lone male subject entered the party store armed with a silver handgun. The offender ordered the store’s female employee to open the cash register and then made her lay face down on the floor.
The subject took an undetermined amount of cash and a green metal cash box before fleeing through the front door of the establishment. Investigators are uncertain whether the individual escaped by foot or in a vehicle.
According to the police report, the offender was a white male, between 5?8?? and 5?10?? in height and, medium in build. He was wearing a gray or blue hooded sweatshirt, black gloves, dark jeans, white gym shoes and a paintball mask over his face.
Police did interview two individuals fitting this description the night of the robbery; however, both subjects were cleared and released.
