Police were unable to determine who was at fault in an accident that occurred at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday at the intersection of M-24 and Drahner Rd.
According to the sheriff’s report, a 2002 red Chevy pickup was heading south on M-24 when it collided with a 1999 Rider truck that was turning onto Drahner Rd. The two drivers had different stories as to how the accident happened.
The 43-year-old driver of the red pickup stated that he was driving through the intersection and had a green light when the Rider truck turned in front of him. The Gladwin resident claims he was unable to stop and hit the moving van.
A 25-year-old Oxford man was driving the moving truck and gave police a slightly different version. He stated that he was turning on a green left-turn arrow when the Gladwin man ran a red light and struck his vehicle.
No passengers were involved in the accident, and neither man required medical attention.
No independent witnesses were available and deputies were unable to determine who was at fault in the crash. Both men were cited for failure to yield.
