A van will be purchased for the Orion Township Buildings and Grounds Department, with the old van being offered for sale to the public by bid.
The Orion Township Board of Trustees approved purchasing a 2004 Chevrolet 3/4 Ton Express Van, by the Oakland County bid package, at a cost not to exceed $16,300. The old van, a 1989 vehicle, will be offered for sale to the highest bidder.
Buildings and grounds director Reenae Tulip said the new van will be used at Friendship Park, and also by several other departments, including the clerk’s office for the 2004 election cycle.
