Oxford firefighters will be conducting a “boot drive” at the intersection of Washington and Burdick streets Sunday, Sept. 14.
Proceeds from the fund-raiser will go toward paying the medical bills for two-year-old Oxford resident Emily Borst, who nearly drown in May.
From most recent reports provided by Emily’s family to the Home Town Village block party fund-raiser this past week, Emily was able to come home for three days; however, her heart-rate became irregular and flatlined at one point. Emily was taken back to Children’s Hospital and doctor’s are continuing to provide her with therapy. Treatments in the hypobaric chamber is still showing positive results in the toddler; however, her unstable heart-rate has limited the sessions.
The community is praying for Emily and her family in their time of need.
