Brandon Twp. — The Brandon School District is looking for input on their upcoming strategic plan update. The survey for community input is available at brandonschooldistrict.org.
“It’s an opportunity to create a vision for the future,” said district superintendent Carly Stone. “Our current plan expires in 2025, and it was put into place in 2014-2015. A lot has changed in the world since then. We would love to hit the resent button on that and get community input on what they want for the district.”
The strategic plan survey will take input on what the district is doing well, how they can improve, and what changes or new ideas residents would like to see implemented. The committee will speak host student forums for elementary, middle, and high school students. They will also host a community forum on Feb. 28 at 5 p.m. in the Brandon Middle School cafeteria.
“The rest of the feedback will come through the survey,” she said.
Data will be gathered by facilitator Clarence Gardner with Michigan Leadership Institute. He will do a comparison with districts of like-size, as well as districts in surrounding areas.
“The survey will be out for about a month,” she said. “After that we start to engage in action planning.”
The goal is for the strategic plan to be finished by June, and would launch in the fall of the 2024-2025.
