Brandon’s Hyde earns All-State honors at Division 2 meet

Brandon senior Adam Hyde highlighted the list of Blackhawk competitors at the Division 2 state track meet Saturday, June 4.
Hyde, who will be attending Grand Valley State University in 2005-06 on a track scholarship, played third in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 39.92, earning All-State honors in the process.
Another Brandon boys track team member, Kyle Worden, just missed out on making the All-State team in the discus (the top eight competitors in each event make All-State), placing ninth with a throw of 143?.
On the girls side, the 3200 meter relay team of Kayla Doan, Danie Ashford, Jamie Hendershott, and Kelly Wilson set a new school record in that event, finishing 20th in the state with a time of 9:56.7.
Wilson also placed 21st in the 3200 meter run (10:05).
Sarah Bond placed 14th in the discus (111?11?) and 20th in the shot put (34?1-1/2?), while Savannah Stedman took 20th in the discus (106?7?) and 15th in the high jump (5?1?).
