Goodrich Meadows special assessment

Goodrich-In a special meeting on May 27 the village council voted 4-0 to move forward with a special assessment for paving Goodrich Meadows subdivision. Paving of the development will begin in the spring of 2015.
In February 2013 Davison-based C & L Ward Brothers purchased the remaining parcels in Goodrich Meadows located in the village east of M-15 near the post office. The village subdivision, which first opened about ten years ago, had been owned by Huntington Bank for the past two years following a series of financial shortcomings. During that time one layer of asphalt, curbs and gutters were completed; however, the final coat was never applied to the approximate mile of roadway within the subdivision.
‘We are just in the planning stage of the project right now,? said Jakki Sidge, village administrator. ‘There will be a series of public hearings yet to come.?
The estimated cost of the project is $285,000 and typically extends for five to seven years, added Sidge.
Goodrich Meadows includes a total of 83 building lots in which 34 homes are now located. The development also includes village sewers; however the roads in the development were unpaved.
The new homes built by Ward Brothers are priced from the $179,000 to $239,000 range and are 1,800 to 2,400 square feet with three and four bedrooms.
