THE AUGUST 6, 2013 SPECIAL ELECTION WILL BE CONDUCTED IN ALL VOTING PRECINCTS IN ORION TOWNSHIP FOR THE PURPOSE OF A VOTE ON THE FOLLOWING PROPOSALS:
SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT BOND PROPOSITION A
Shall the Lake Orion Community Schools, County of Oakland, State of Michigan, borrow the sum of not to
exceed Twenty-Eight Million Six Hundred Ninety Thousand and 00/100 ($28,690,000) Dollars and issue its
general obligation unlimited tax bonds therefor, in one or more series, for the purpose of paying for the cost
of the following projects:
‘Acquiring and installing technology equipment and technology infrastructure in school buildings and other
facilities;
‘Remodeling, equipping, re-equipping, furnishing and re-furnishing school buildings and other facilities to
enhance security and for other purposes; and
‘Preparing, developing and improving sites at school buildings, athletic fields and other facilities?
The maximum number of years the bonds may be outstanding, exclusive of refunding, is not more than
twenty (20) years; the estimated millage that will be levied to pay the proposed bonds in the first year is 0.70
mills (which is equal to $0.70 per $1,000 of taxable value); and the estimated simple average annual millage
that will be required to retire the bonds over twenty (20) years is 1.15 mills annually ($1.15 per $1,000 of
taxable value).
(Pursuant to State law, expenditure of bond proceeds must be audited, and the proceeds cannot be used for teacher, administrator or employee salaries, repair or maintenance costs or other operating expenses.)
SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT BOND PROPOSITION B
Shall the Lake Orion Community Schools, County of Oakland, State of Michigan, borrow the sum of not to
exceed Four Million Five Hundred Forty Thousand and 00/100 ($4,540,000) Dollars and issue its general
obligation unlimited tax bonds therefor, in one or more series, for the purpose of paying for the cost of the
following enhancement projects:
‘Acquiring and installing technology equipment and technology infrastructure in school buildings and other
facilities;
‘Remodeling, equipping, re-equipping, furnishing and re-furnishing school buildings, athletic facilities,
athletic fields and other facilities;
‘Erecting a multi-purpose team room at the High School athletic field; and
‘Preparing, developing and improving sites at school buildings, athletic fields and other facilities?
The maximum number of years the bonds may be outstanding, exclusive of refunding, is not more than
twenty (20) years; the estimated millage that will be levied to pay the proposed bonds in the first year is 0.12
mills (which is equal to $0.12 per $1,000 of taxable value); and the estimated simple average annual millage

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on June 22, 2011, at 7:00 o’clock P.M. at the Administration Building, Lake Orion, Michigan, the Board of Education of Lake Orion Community School District will hold a public hearing to consider the District’s proposed 20112012 budget.

Shall the Lake Orion Community Schools, County of Oakland, State of Michigan, borrow the sum of not to exceed Twenty Five million Five Hundred Thirty Thousand ($25,530,000) Dollars and issue its general obligation unlimited tax bonds therefore, in one or more series, for the purpose of paying for cost of the following:
? Equipping and re-equipping school buildings and other facilities for technology equipment and systems;
? Remodeling, re-equipping, refurnishing school buildings and other facilities and the purchase of school busses;
? Erecting, equipping and furnishing additions to school buildings; and
? Preparing, developing and improving sites at school buildings, additions to school buildings and other facilities?
The estimated millage that will be levied to pay the proposed bonds in the first year is 1.60 mills ($1.60 per $1,000 of taxable value). The maximum number of years the proposed bonds may be outstanding, exclusive of refunding, is not more than eighteen (18) years; and the estimated simple average annual millage that will be required to retire the proposed bonds over eighteen (18) years is 1.54 mills annually ($1.54 per $1,000 of taxable value).
If approved by the voters the bonds will be guaranteed by the State of Michigan under Section 16 of Article IX of the State Constitution of 1963, as amended. If the School District borrows from the State of Michigan to pay debt service on the bonds under the State of Michigan’s guarantee the School District may be required to levy debt mills beyond the term of the bonds to repay the State of Michigan.
