Madeline Dishon realized a perfect opportunity.
Growing up in Milford during the 1960s’Dishon recalled the quaintness of the then small village.
‘Downtown Goodrich reminded of that hometown atmosphere,? Dishon said.
So when the chance to purchase a small business in the village became available’Dishon opened the ice cream store Lickity Splitz, 10230 Hegel Road, Goodrich, on May 1.
‘It’s been awesome the first few weeks,? she said. ‘Ice cream makes people happy. I wanted an ice cream that was unique’I’m not here to be a millionaire’that’s not my goal. Rather, I made sure the ice cream was good and also affordable.?
Lickity Splitz features a variety of hard and soft Hershey’s ice cream? sundaes, banana splits and the famous Martian mixer in a host of flavors. Other items including Koegel hotdogs, nachos, waffle cones (and bowls), Bosco Sticks and popcorn.
‘I’ve always wanted to run a small business like this,? she said. ‘We welcome all sports teams, who will receive15 percent off when they come in as a group. Our goal is to embrace the community’where we all know each other.?
Lickity Splitz is open through November, daily and weekends,11 a.m.-10 p.m.
