Local student selected to attend conference

Jennifer Kendrick, a student at Clarkston High School, has been selected to attend the 2003 Congressional Student Leadership Conference in Silver Springs, MD.
The CSLC is an invitational leadership program for the most academically talented and promising young leaders. Exceptional high school students who have a record of academic achievement and extracurricular or community involvement, are invited to participate from across the United States and internationally.
Students choose from several academic areas including the Congressional Forum, Business & Entrepreneurship, Defense and Intelligence and Medicine and Healthcare.
‘They develop confidence and maturity while gaining skills that will help them achieve success in college and life,? Founder and Executive Director of the CSLC Chris Salamone said. ‘Leadership begins with our young people, in their homes, their schools and their communities, as they seek knowledge and understanding and work to improve the world around them.
