Monday morning quarterback

To the editor:
In response to Mark Griffiths? question of ‘Where’s Goodrich?? (The Citizen, Nov. 17, page 6) I have to ask The Citizen, how much more press are you going to give this guy? Is there not a limit on how many individual letters per month can be published as with other newspapers? We voted a board in to run the school district and I, along with other taxpaying parents that I know, am very happy with the way the district is being run and our children are being educated.
We have had some issues as all other schools or businesses face, whether it is financial, union negotiations or how the superintendent in this case sets the tone as the leader of our schools. I do not believe that any of our district’s issues should rise to such a level that we have to constantly view pessimistic letters, while the Goodrich Community Schools continually set the bar for other schools in our area. It is very unfortunate that on a near weekly basis those views can be taken by others outside of our community or even in our community as the voice for the rest of us.
I suggest to Mr. Griffiths that if he truly wants to make an impact that he run for the school board. The community can then review his qualifications as a candidate and make the determination as voters as to whether or not we agree with his views on the state of our school district. At least if Mr. Griffiths were to run and was elected it would be the end to his weekly letters to the editor and the ‘Monday morning quarterbacking? of our current school board.
