Thick, black smoke could be seen billowing into the sky as one of the houses located on the Red Bob Farms property (1935 Ray Rd.) burned to the ground Saturday.
The blaze was set by the Oxford Fire Department as part of a training exercise.
Fires were lit in various rooms within the house, then extinguished by three-man teams of firefighters who rushed inside, braving the smoke and flames.
The exercise gave firefighters a chance to practice their techniques and reinforce the department’s safety protocols.
