Oaktree closed due to water damage

Goodrich- Oaktree Elementary was closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday last week due to water damage as a result of a fire suppression sprinkler line that burst sometime in the early hours Feb. 16.
Michelle Imbrunone, district superintendent, reported in a letter sent home to parents that the waterline rupture caused damage to the Head-End room’the communications hub of Oaktree and other district buildings. The waterline break took out communications that would have alerted school officials to the problem that occurred.
Members of the district’s operations department, along with crews from Charles L. Pugh, worked to cleanup the water that flooded part of the school and replace damaged carpet in addition to cleaning and disinfecting furniture.
Oaktree was set to resume classes on Feb. 19; however, sub-zero temperatures and windchills closed the school along with the rest of the district.
