Public Notice: Brandon Schools

BRANDON SCHOOL DISTRICT
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
The Board of Education of Brandon School District will receive sealed Bids in response to its Request for Bids For Security Camera System Upgrades issued on February 16, 2022. The RFB and bidding documents may be retrieved by visiting the School District’s website (www.brandonschooldistrict.org).
Bids will be received by Janice Meek, Brandon School District, at 1025 S. Ortonville Road, Ortonville, Michigan 48462, on or before 2:00 p.m. (local time) on March 4, 2022 (“Due Date”). The Board of Education will not consider or accept a Bid received after the Due Date. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud on March 4, 2022, beginning at 2:05 p.m. at 1025 S. Ortonville Road, Ortonville, Michigan 48462 via a virtual Zoom meeting. See RFB for login information.
A building walk-through will be held on February 22, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. See RFB for attendance information.
Each Bid must be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship that exists between the owner or any employee of the contractor and any member of the Board of Education or the Superintendent of Goodrich Area Schools. The Board of Education will not accept a Bid that does not include this sworn and notarized disclosure statement.
Each Bid must also be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement certifying that the contractor is not an Iran Linked Business. The Board of Education will not accept a Bid that does not include this sworn and notarized statement.
Each Bid must be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check in an amount of 5% of the total cost of the proposed base bid for the building marquee, as a guarantee of contractor’s good faith on the part of the contractor and to secure the school district from loss or damage by reason of the withdrawal of the proposal or by the failure of the contractor to enter a contract for performance, if the proposal is accepted by the Board of Education of the School District. If a bid bond is posted by a contractor, it shall be from a surety licensed to do business in the State of Michigan and the attorney-in-fact who executes the bid bond on behalf of the contractor shall attach a certified, current copy of its power of attorney. In the event a certified check is submitted, it shall be made payable to “BRANDON SCHOOL DISTRICT.”
Brandon School District’s Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any and all Bids, either in whole or in part, to waive any informalities or irregularities therein, or to award the contract to other than the contractor(s) submitting the best financial bid (low bidder), in its sole and absolute discretion.
