Reserve OCS deputy retires

After 36 years of service in the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office reserve unit, Dennis DeCovich announced his retirement.
‘I have seen many changes over the years with the unit and I have had the privilege to work with many fine deputies over those years,? said DeCovich.
After his graduation from the Oakland County Reserve Academy in April 1979 he was assigned to the Brandon Township contingency.
‘I have seen many come and move on,? he said. ? I remember when our current sergeant, Greg Glover, was first assigned to Brandon as a new road patrol deputy on the afternoon shift. Others have long retired and move out of state.?
DeCovich has patrolled many football games, parades, community events and watched his three children, Nicholas, Renee and Heather, graduate from Brandon High School.
‘I’m honored to have been able to serve in this capacity for such a fine organization as the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office,? he said. ‘Now I will have more time to spend with my wife Cheryl at our Copper Country home on Lake Superior, but I will always have fond memories of my time served in the Ortonville, Brandon area.?
