Tragedy sparks collection for family

Brandon Twp.- A collection fund was set up this week to help a local family struck by tragedy.
Mona White, a 42-year-old mother of four, died unexpectedly Oct. 8 at her home in the Clarkston Lakes Mobile Home Park.
She leaves behind her husband of 17 years, as well as 12-year-old twin daughters who are students at Brandon Middle School, a 7-year-old daughter who is a first grader at H.T. Burt Elementary and a 3-year-old son.
The family had moved to Michigan in August.
‘All of us here at Burt are profoundly sad for the White family,? said H.T. Burt Principal Kristy Spann. ‘They have no family here in Michigan and few friends, because they are so new to the community. It’s heartbreaking. Our thoughts and prayers are with them all.?
Spann asks the community to keep the family in their thoughts and, if they are able, to make a donation to assist with expenses. Checks can be made payable to ‘The White Family Fund? and sent to H.T. Burt Elementary, 209 Varsity Drive, Ortonville, MI 48462, to the Brandon Middle School, 609 S. Ortonville Road, Ortonville, MI 48462, or to the Clarkston Brandon Community Credit Union, 4 South St., P.O. Box 194, Ortonville, MI 48462.
