Local officials toured the Upland Hills Farm in Addison Township, Sept. 25, guests of Main Street Oakland County.
Springfield Township Supervisor Collin Walls and Clerk Nancy Strole were recognized during presentations for their years of preservation work.
‘It was nice. It’s always nice to be honored by your peers,? Walls said. ‘Preservation is very important ? development in concert with preservation.?
City Manager Dennis Ritter, representing Clarkston, received a welcome plaque from the county-based economic development program. The city joined on a Mentoring basis, which allows it to sample Main Street’s services for up to two years.
‘Clarkston is an ideal candidate,? Ritter said. ‘I’m pretty excited about it. We’ll be as active as possible.?
As part of the program, Clarkston officials can visit and host officials from a mentoring community, attend revitalization seminars and trainings, and set up a town meeting to organize community support, according to Main Street Oakland County.
