Rite Aid project moving forward

Groveland Twp.-A new Rite Aid moved one step closer last week.
Officials for Macomb County based Aarmax Corporation confirmed on Monday that ground-breaking for a Rite Aid building could occur as early as June. The new store will replace the current Rite Aid located just to the north east side of M-15 north of Mill Street.
Last year Aarmax first approached the village of Ortonville and Groveland Township regarding the property near the southwest corner of Grange Hall Road and M-15.
After receiving approval for a site plan earlier this year, Keith Maziasz, spokesperson for Aarmax Corporation says the new facility will be constructed on about two acres and include entrances to both Grange Hall Road and M-15.
‘The new building design will look different than any other Rite Aid store? said Maziasz. The all brick 11,000 square foot structure will include a drive through pharmacy along with a 3 1/2-by-10 foot illuminated sign near M-15.
‘It will be the first of its kind and should be completed sometime in mid-October.?
Aarmax Corporation is considered a preferred developer for Rite Aid and has constructed about 12 buildings statewide. No plans for the existing Rite Aid building located on the north east side of M-15 have been announced.
