40-year teacher retires

Clarkston resident Karen McGuire retired this past December after working 40 years in education.
She spent the past nine-and-a-half years with Roseville Community Schools, serving as elementary curriculum director and co-director of Special Education. She previously served as building principal in Algonac, Grosse Pointe and Warren Consolidated Schools.
Her leadership led to innovations including the Waterford Software System, expansion of multiage programs, and institution of elementary literacy coaches.
She celebrates her retirement with a trip to Hawaii and will be taking frequent trips to her condo in Ft. Myers.
