Oakwood Art Studio

Ortonville — Oakwood Art Studio, a new go-to place for fun and artistic expression is open!
“Our mission is all about having fun while making art together,” says owner Deb Scott.
With a BFA, an MFA in digital imaging and design, and 20 plus years of experience in graphic design, animation, and teaching, Deb is ready to share her passion for the art-making process.
“People are looking for things to do” she said.
The art studio hosts classes and events, including paint & sip nights, pet portrait workshops, stop motion animation, acrylic & watercolor painting, and after-school art activities for kids.
Deb believes in fostering creative talents of our youth.
“I want to provide a welcoming space where kids can thrive in their artistic interests,” she explains.
And for adults looking for relaxation, we have plenty of stress-free evening classes designed to inspire.
Having called Ortonville home for three years, Deb felt there was a need for an artistic hub in the community. The studio enjoys working on large scale collaborative projects like the carousel horse in the front window and “The Dragon Princess” painting. There’s always something fresh and exciting happening at the studio!
“I’m excited to bring something special to our community,” she adds. “Art is a fantastic way to reconnect, especially after the challenges we’ve all faced during COVID.”
