Michelle Renae Kier Hardin passed away suddenly on March 12 at her home in Lapeer. Michelle was 56.

She was born November 22, 1968 to the late John Kier and late Shirley (nee: Ellman) Merrick. Michelle leaves her only son and best friend, Ryan Hardin; former husband Bryan Hardin; aunt, Jane Kier (Bruce) Moore; nieces, Felicia Hardin, Ashley (Chris)) Cogar and her cousins, Anthony (fiancé Dora) Kier; Aaron Kier, Amber (Tim) Ogg, Nicholas Ellmann and Shelly Ellman; best friends, Debra Butler, and the late Dianne Breathauer, Connie Pennington and Amy Howard; she was also preceded in death by aunts, Linda Burke and Sharon Mahoney Ellman; uncles, Gene Ellman and Peter Kier. Michelle attended Brandon High School and was a 1985 graduate of Bad Axe High School. She worked as a Certified Nursing Hospice Care worker for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, going for long walks with her son, putting together model dollhouses and making fairy gardens. Michelle will be greatly missed by her loving family. Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Village Funeral Home 135 South Street, Ortonville, Michigan. Pastor Sean Barton, officiating.
