State Quarterfinals Tecumseh 61-Goodrich 53

Tecumseh — The Goodrich Lady Martians season came to a close on Tuesday night in the MHSAA D2 State Quarterfinals as the Tecumseh Indians (25-1) punched their ticket to the State Semifinals with a 61-53 win at Northville High School. The Lady Martians finished the 2024-25 season 23-4.
Sophomore Baylor Lauinger topped scoring for the Martians with 13 points, Junior Kayla Hairston tossed in 12 points while Seniors Lucy Rafferty and Ella Place each had nine points.
The Martians trailed 25-16 at halftime. In the third quarter the Martians cut the lead to 32-25 when Ella Place hit a three point field goal. The Indian defense stepped up and pulled away, keeping the Martians to under 39 points until late in the fourth quarter.
The Lady Martians had no answers for Alli Ajac who scored 11 of her 21 points in the second quarter followed by Makayla Scholrf with 12 points.
The next stop is the Breslin Center at MSU for Tecumseh who will play at 5:30 p.m. Friday in the semifinals against No. 4 Frankenmuth.
