500 Oxford Twp. customers lose power

A tree branch making contact with power lines caused a short, which left 500 Oxford Township customers of DTE Energy without electricity Monday night. According to DTE Energy spokesman Scott Simons, the incident occurred at 7:20 p.m. and power was restored by 9:20 p.m.
Among those impacted by the blackout were the Oxford Meijer and the traffic signal at the intersection of M-24 and Ray Road.
