Dog lovers are invited to attend a planning session for the expansion of Orion Oaks Bark Park. Interested individuals should meet at the Joslyn Road parking lot on April 3, 10 a.m.
The park is a fenced seven acre ‘off leash playground? for dogs, including trails and beach (swimming for dogs only).
Tentative plans include expanding the park to create three, five acre sections. According to Sue Wells, chief of recreation, the area in use will be rotated to allow grass to grow.
Wells said half-acre sections for small breed dogs will be created and parking expanded. The new areas will be located north of the current park.
Dogs are invited to the planning session, but must remain on a six-foot leash until they are inside the park. Drinking water and pet waste bags are available on site.
Orion Oaks County Park is bordered by Clarkston, Joslyn and Baldwin Roads.
