Although the building itself was a total loss, all the horses inside were able to escape the fire, LeRoy said.
The blaze was under control at 12:20 p.m., however, the chief said ‘mop up? at the scene lasted until 4:30 p.m. Firefighters had to remove about 500 bales of hay and spread each of them out, searching for and extinguishing any smoldering areas, LeRoy said.
Members of the Brandon Township Fire Department aided Oxford at the scene.
