Less money for chloride

Residents living on dirt roads in Addison Township will not be receiving as much assistance this year with road chloride service.
Due to cutbacks in the budget caused by reductions in state revenue sharing, the Addison Township Board of Trustees voted to reduce the township’s contribution in road chloride service from 50 percent to 25 percent.
The township will again be seeking bids for chloride service, and residents can participate in the program, but the township will only cover 25 percent of the cost. Also, those residents choosing to hire their own licensed contractor will only be reimbursed for 25 percent of the final cost per foot as determined by the Board of Trustees.
