Orion Township trustees voted April 5 to authorize the supervisor and clerk to sign the 2004 community service contracts.
The board also authorized preparation of the contribution checks the township has budgeted for the services for 2004. Each group submitted a financial report of how they spent their 2003 funds, in order to receive their 2004 funds.
Groups receiving budgeted funds in 2004 include: Common Ground Sanctuary ($1,200), FISH ($2,000), Focus Hope ($1,000), Lake Orion Lions ($1,500), Parents Who Care-LOHS All Night Party ($1,000), and Orion Area Youth Assistance ($4,500).
Also receive funds are: Orion Art Center ($3,500), Village of Lake Orion Annual Swim Program ($2,000), and the Boys and Girls Club of Orion/Oxford ($10,000; $8,000 plus $10 per Orion Township child up to $2,000).
Sports leagues receiving funds are: Lake Orion Youth Baseball, Lake Orion Girls Softball and Orion/Oxford Soccer League; with $10 per Orion player ($23,000 budgeted for all leagues). Youth Football receives $10 per player ($2,000 maximum budgeted).
