Roads close for parade

With masses of students and alumni converging downtown for the annual Lake Orion High School Homecoming Parade on Oct. 8, some village streets will be closing.
Lake Orion Village Lieutenant Harold Rossman has sent notice that police will begin closing roadside parking along Flint Street, between Anderson and Broadway, and Broadway, between Flint and Shadbolt, beginning at 3 p.m.
Street closures at M-24/Broadway, M-24/Flint, M-24/Shadbolt, M-24/Church, M-24/Elizabeth and Flint/Perry start at 4:30 p.m.
Rossman suggests using alternate routes during these times when entering the downtown area.
The parade begins at 5 p.m. The route starts on Lapeer Street (near the Ehman Center), goes east on Elizabeth Street, south on Washington Street, west on Flint Street and then north on Broadway back to the beginning point.
