Mail goes up in flames

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call of mail arson at the Gingellville Child Care Center on Baldwin Road on Oct. 4.
According to an OCSD deputy report, a 58-year-old Firelight Lane woman who is employed at the center said an unknown person had taken two pieces of mail from the center’s mailbox, located at the street in front of the business, and set them on fire.
The fire was lit on the ground inside of the children’s bus stop shelter. Both pieces of mail were addressed to the center, and one was a billing report while the other was a seminar brochure.
The woman said she had no idea who could have burned the mail.
