The Orion Township Board of Trustees has authorized increasing the amount for reimbursement paid by the township for the Clean Sweep program at Eagle Valley Landfill.
The program currently allows a township resident to be reimbursed for a portion of the cost of one trip to Eagle Valley, per year, to dump trash. The current $15 reimbursement amount has been in existence for more than 15 years, and used to cover the entire cost of dumping one load of trash.
Now, residents pay $55-65 to dump a load of trash at Eagle Valley. The township increased the budgeted amount for 2005 from $500 to $1,000; will pay each resident $25 instead of $15, per one trip to Eagle Valley per year, effective Jan. 1, 2005.
