Brandon Twp.-Despite a cold, wet, windy autumn day the marching Blackhawks emerged with perfect scores at the recent Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association Marching Band Festival. On Oct. 16, at Brandon Varsity Field 19 area bands competed for scores ranging from one to five, with one the highest score.
‘We’re very pleased with Brandon’s performance,? said Russ McMartin, Brandon Band director. ‘Even in very bad weather our band finished very high.?
The superlative scores received by Brandon were the sixth consecutive year they’ve earned perfect scores.
The Goodrich High School band also performed on Saturday and received top scores says Aaron Orkisz, Goodrich Band Director.
