Orion Township Supervisor Jerry Dywasuk announced on Nov. 22 that he had recently learned from U.S. Representative Mike Rogers, who represents part of Orion Township in District 8, that Orion Township will receive $500,000 in federal funds for preliminary engineering for the widening of Baldwin Road.
‘It’s great news,? Dywasuk said.
Dywasuk said the Road Commission for Oakland County had pledged an additional match of $125,000 in funds for the preliminary engineering, bringing the total to $625,000 for the project.
Road commission public information officer Craig Bryson could not be reached for comment at press time.
