Vandals cause $4,000 in damage to party store

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call of vandalism at the Oak Barrel Party Store on Lapeer Road on Nov. 18.
According to an OCSD report, the 71-year-old man who owns the building told deputies that $4,000 worth of damage was caused when someone wrote ‘DIRT SIDE? in black spray paint in three-foot letters on the north side of the store.
Four supports in front of the entrance were also damaged, possibly struck with a baseball bat, causing small chunks to be knocked out of the supports.
The owner said four other stores in the township had also been vandalized with spray paint with similar words.
