Franchise owner celebrates 3 years in north Oakland

Shannon Wygant, franchise owner of Home Instead Senior Care, celebrated his three-year anniversary for the north Oakland County office on Nov. 22.
During this time, the facility cared for 247 seniors, including more than 30 hospice cases and 50 temporary cases to assist families with respite and well-needed vacations.
The facility’s CAREGivers have assisted clients to stay at home and have provided one-on-one support when needed in more than 15 different facilities such as nursing homes and independent/assisted living centers. The agency also works with the Area Agency for the Aging to provide care to low-income seniors through the My Choice program.
Wygant supervises about 115 CAREGivers, 50 of whom are specially trained to work with seniors with Alzheimer’s Disease. Under his leadership, the agency has earned accreditation from Home Caregivers of America and a certificate of recognition for outstanding quality service from AAA Region 1-B.
The agency is currently promoting the Santas for Seniors program to provide gifts for underprivileged seniors. Last December, Wygant extended Home Instead Senior Care to southwest Oakland County with a second franchise location.
