Operation Guardian Angel to send Christmas packages to troops

Lake Orion Postal Clerk Char Cito (and her daughter Dawn) have been taking collections and sending care packages to members of our military that are relatives of people in the Lake Orion Post Office, and now they are asking for the community’s help to make Christmas a little brighter this year for our troops overseas.
Cito is now sending packages for immediate family members of postal customers. Until now, donations have been primarily from the Lake Orion Post Office, or someone Dawn works with.
They hope to send Christmas packages to the soldiers, containing many things that will hopefully make their Christmas away from family as bearable as possible. Some of the things they are hoping to send are magazines, local newspapers, candy, and things as simple as crossword puzzle books and other things of that nature.
To make this happen, they need help to cover purchasing, packaging and shipping. The post office staff is still donating, but they need help from anyone who can give it.
If you can help, you can ask your mail carrier to bring it in, or drop it off at the post office ‘Christmas for Our Troops? donation box.
The deadline for sending packages to troops overseas is Dec. 11, so they are asking for ‘anything? they can get to send out by Dec. 8.
The project has been named ‘Operation Angel? because a U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant whose unit had lost hope when tensions were high received a care package from Char and Dawn, opened it, and said it was ‘like Christmas? for the troops in his unit.
He later said that ‘he knew they had a guardian angel.?
