The Orion Township board has approved a request from parks and recreation director Rock Blanchard to fund part of the cost for a vault toilet installation along the Paint Creek Trail.
The township will fund 36 percent, restricting $15,000 in 2004 parks and recreation funds to be carried over to the 2005 budget to pay for the cost. All but $5,400 is to reimbursed back to the township once the project is completed, via a Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund grant.
The toilet is to be located near the intersection of Clarkston and Kern Roads on the trail.
