The 10-year old Clarkston Riverdawgs baseball team ended their inaugural season by winning the 19th Annual Grand Blanc Baseball Tournament held from July14-16.
The Riverdawgs opened the tournament with a 6-1 victory over the Thorn Apple Valley team from Grand Rapids.
The next day, the Oxford Wildcats handed the Riverdawgs their only loss of the tournament.The Riverdawgs responded well to the loss with a come-from-behind 11-9 victory over the Lake Fenton Lightning.
On July 16, the Riverdawgs defeated Owosso 9-8 to secure a place in the finals. The Riverdawgs were able to avenge their only loss with a 7-4 victory over the Wildcats.
The Riverdawgs ended their season with a 17-21 record.
Tryouts for next year’s team will be held on August 19 and 26 from 12-2:30 p.m. at Clarkston High School.
