This year’s winner of the Downtown Lake Orion annual Lighted Holiday Window Dressing Contest was Lake Orion Window Treatments, 47 South Broadway.
Eighteen downtown businesses entered the contest. Oxford’s Main Street Promotion Commission was called in to serve as the judging panel.
‘Business owner, Jan Cole, has decorated her window for many years and her dedication to dressing up her business for the holidays makes the award to her this year very special,? LO Downtown Coordinator Becky Goodman said.
Businesses were given a composite score and judged on five criteria: Use of lights, creativity, appropriateness to business, spirit of the holiday and judge’s choice.
Honorable mentions went to Tatum Studio, Heritage Spinning and Weaving, Finishing Touch Decorating Emporium and Jacobsen’s Flowers and Gifts.
Lake Orion Window Treatment will receive a free ad in both The Lake Orion Review and The Oakland Press, sponsors of The Lighted Holiday Village.
The business will also have its name added to the Downtown Lake Orion Window Dressing trophy.
