Pathway project to take shape

Goodrich – The Goodrich-Atlas Pathway project will soon be taking shape.
The non-motorized pathway will run along Hegel Road west of the Goodrich Country Club to Oaktree Elementary.
Of $717,000 estimated for the project, a total of $403,400 remains to be paid. Goodrich will pay 20 percent of that sum, $80,070, in matching funds. The remaining $322,700 will be paid by the federal government, said village administrator Jakki Sidge.
Atlas Township’s total share of the project was estimated at $30,000.
Bids have been taken by the state. A completion date of Aug. 5 has been set, although the pathway could be finished earlier, depending on when seasonal weight restrictions are removed this spring, said Sidge.
