outstanding warrants
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call from a Grondin’s Hair Center employee who was concerned about a homeless man hanging out in front of a store front on Lapeer Road on Jan. 12.
According to the OCSD report, the woman said the man, identified as a 51-year-old Metamora man who said he was homeless, was acting odd as she walked by him, and was standing against a store front near Farmer Jack’s.
The deputy spoke to the man, and asked where he’d been for the last hour. The man said he’d been sitting on the window of a vacant store. He said he hadn’t been near Grondin’s.
The woman told the deputy she had noticed the man’s clothes were messy, and his ‘privates? were somewhat exposed. They didn’t speak, and she said she called the OCSD shortly after.
The woman said she didn’t want to press charges, but was just concerned about the man’s well being. The OCSD found the man had six outstanding warrants, with bond totalling $1,500. The man said he didn’t have that much money, and was asked to clean up his area and move on, which he did.
The man was arrested one day later for outstanding warrants at Auto Zone on Lapeer.
