Freshmen picked for in State Honor Choir

Lake Orion High School will be represented in the State Honor Choir program, sponsored by the Michigan School Vocal Music Association.
LOHS freshmen Caitlin Sutton, Danielle Rossilli and Stephanie Fisher successfully auditioned their way into the Junior High/Middle School SSA State Honor choir on the Regional Honor Choir Day, held Oct. 16 in Mt. Pleasant.
They have devoted two November and two January Saturdays to full-day rehearsals at various locations around the state. Their special performance comes on Jan. 22 at Hill Auditorium on the University of Michigan campus, where they will sing a concert at 3 p.m.
LOHS also has four upperclassmen involved in the MSVMA High School State Honor Choir program. Junior Danielle Arida, alto; sophomore Sarah Merritt, alto; senior Erin Sutton, soprano; and senior Stephen Schrauger, baritone, auditioned their way into the Regional Honor Choir of 185 voices.
They rehearsed and gave a concert on Dec. 4 at Southfield High School. After an additional intensive auditioning process at Regionals, they were selected to move on to the State Honor Choirs.
They report to rehearsal locations on Jan. 20 to finish preparations for their State Honor Choir concert on Jan. 22, at 7 p.m. at Hill Auditorium.
Both concerts are free and open to the public.
