Ortonville? The Old Mill will be getting a new look.
The Village Council OK’d a kitchen remodeling plan and funding for the project at last Monday’s meeting, following a presentation by Historical Society President Tom Stowell.
Stowell asked that $1,500 in the Historical Society’s grant savings account, left over from a past painting project, be allocated to relocating the mill’s kitchen furnace to the basement area. This relocation will allow for the remodeling of the kitchen, which will bring it into compliance with Oakland County Health Division requirements.
Total cost for the kitchen remodeling and furnace relocation is estimated to be $2,800. Stowell expects work to begin in March.
