The Lake Orion girls ski team earned a victory at the Boyne Invitational over the weekend, rebounding from a loss against Clarkston on Feb. 2.
The girls? final regular season win over the six-team Boyne field improved their overall record to 17-1, 8-1 in SEMSL Pine Knob.
The Dragons were led by a 2-3-4 giant slalom finish by senior captains Kateyln Rivers and Jessica Hutchison, and junior Kristen Fleming.
Junior Camille Seybert also medaled in the giant slalom with a 10th place finish.
In the slalom, Fleming skied to a third place finish, with Hutchison in fourth, Rivers in eighth, and sophomore Kyla Hutchison finishing 13th to complete the team’s scoring.
Despite leading after the giant slalom event, the Lake Orion boys team suffered three costly falls in the slalom, to finish fourth, taking their overall record to 13-6 (6-3).
Medaling for the boys were Marty Tarr with a sixth place finish in the slalom, and ninth in the giant slalom; and Rob Stakle with a sixth place finish in the slalom.
Kevin Bowen finished sixth in the giant slalom and James Hubbard was seventh in the slalom.
In state rankings, released Sunday, the Lake Orion girls were ranked sixth, and the boys ninth.
