Baby found not breathing had history of health problems

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department investigated a 911 call that came from a residence on Aubrey Drive on March 6. A mother called to say her five-month-old son was not breathing.
The baby was later pronounced dead at POH Medical Center in Pontiac.
According to an OCSD report, a 33-year-old woman called Orion Fire and requested assistance because she had found her son lying on the floor, not breathing and bluish in color. She said that she thought she had ‘killed her baby.?
CPR was in progress when the OCSD arrived, and the baby was in the home’s master bedroom, on the floor, face up. He was not responding to CPR efforts, and transported to POH.
The baby had a surgical scar on his chest, and the mother told the OCSD that he had had heart surgery in January. She said the baby had many medical problems, and had a ‘stint? put in to help with his heart functions.
According to the report, the mother laid the baby on the floor on his belly for ‘belly-time,? to strengthen his stomach and neck due to his medical problems. She said he was on the floor with his twin brother, and she left the room briefly to go downstairs and take care of some things.
When the woman returned, she said she found the baby not breathing and that he looked blue.
The woman’s husband said he had been downstairs watching television when he heard his wife yelling. He went upstairs and saw the baby was not breathing.
He said Orion Fire informed him how to begin doing CPR until help arrived, which he did. He told the OCSD that the baby was born without a spleen, and had been diagnosed with cardiac problems before birth.
He said the baby had been doing well since the surgery, and also had other non-cardiac medical problems.
