Anna Trim, of Clarkston, a sophomore guard on the Northwood University women’s basketball team, was named the GLIAC North Division Play of the Week this past February.
This was the first time in Tim’s career that she received the honor. She was also the first Northwood player to earn the award this season.
During her award winning week, Trim averaged 25 points, four rebounds, 2.5 assists and two steals per game in a pair of Northwood victories. She finished with 26 points, five rebounds and three assists in Northwood’s 75-65 victory over SVSU. Trim then went on to score 24 points in the Timberwolves? 79-77 upset victory over No. 8 Lake Superior. Her layup with 3.5 seconds remaining proved to be the game winning basket. Trim finished the week with 10 three-point field goals while shooting 45.5 percent from beyond the arc.
In her last three games, Trim averaged 26 points per game. Her 59 three-point field goals this season are the third most in Northwood history.
Northwood wrapped up its season with a 9-18 overall record, a four-game improvement from last season.
