Man wanted to have sex with girl,14, he met on Internet

Marc Edward Liedel of Orion Township thought he was meeting a 14-year-old girl named ‘Janie,? but what he found waiting for him when he arrived in Waterford Township to meet the girl for sex was the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department.
The OCSD Computer Crimes Unit issued a two-count warrant on March 23 for Liedel, 27, after he arranged to have sex with a 14-year-old girl named ‘Janie? that he had been talking to on the Internet since March 1.
Liedel was arraigned in front of Judge Walker at the 50th District Court in Pontiac on March 23, charged with child sexually abusive activity and using a computer to commit same, both 20-year felonies.
The conditions of his $5,000 bond were no use of Internet or computers, GPS tether if bonded and on contact with minors.
The OCSD Computer Crimes Unit said Liedel had chatted with ‘Janie,? actually an OCSD deputy, about six times after initially meeting her in a chatroom.
The OCSD said Liedel is currently laid off and spreads fertilizer for a landscaping company. They said he arrived at the meeting place 15 minutes early on March 22, driving his work vehicle.
Liedel, who is a former Marine and is currently living with his parents, had condoms in the glove compartment of his vehicle and said he had planned on taking the girl back to his house for a couple of hours.
