Students caught smoking marijuana at OHS

Three Oxford High School students were caught smoking marijuana in the school parking lot Thursday, April 21 and suspended as a result.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s report, two 17-year-old students and one 15-year-old were smoking marijuana in a 1998 GMC Jimmy when they were discovered by a school security monitor who smelled the illegal substance.
A search of the students and vehicle led to the confiscation of a baggie of marijuana, a joint, bong, one-hitter (another type of device used to smoke pot), a small scale ‘normally for drug use? and $222 in cash.
A toilet paper roll with a hole cut out for marijuana smoking was also discovered in the vehicle as were ‘several empty packages that (had) contained sleeping pills.?
The joint and baggie of marijuana were discovered in one of the 15-year-old’s pockets.
The 15-year-old admitted he bought the baggie of marijuana from an 18-year-old Oxford man in the Meijer parking lot on Monday, April 18. He also admitted to three previous marijuana purchases from this same individual.
All three students admitted to smoking marijuana in the OHS parking lot, however, no criminal charges have been filed, according to Sheriff’s Det. Ken Alderman.
OHS Principal Mike Schweig confirmed the three students were suspended pending completion of certain requirements that would enable their return to school.
Alderman said the case has been turned over to the sheriff’s Narcotics Enforcement Team.
