Optimists award seven music scholarships

The Clarkston Area Optimist Club recently awarded scholarships to seven Clarkston Community Schools students so they can attend music camps this summer.
Clarkston Middle School students Ariel Black, Natalie Stevenson, Kelsey Osler, Robyn Andree and Sashabaw Middle School student Michelle Lee will receive string music instruction at either Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp or the Michigan American String Teachers Association Camp.
The scholarship funds were raised through the appearance of internationally recognized Celtic fiddler Jeremy Kittel last fall at CHS. The concert was open to the public and sponsored by the Clarkston Optimists.
