The Lake Orion varsity softball team was prepared to play the championship game at the Michigan Stars Softball Tournament on May 1, but the game was called due to bad weather.
The Dragons defeated Troy, 8-0, in the tournament’s Flight A semifinal in Grand Blanc, but were unable to play in the final against Harper Woods Regina. Previously, Lake Orion defeated Hartland, 5-2, with Nichole Woityra, Kelsey Stout and Kristin Larsen each getting homeruns.
The Dragons also defeated Clinton Township Chippewa Valley, 2-1; and Flint Kearsley, 10-3, with Sasha Perryman getting two hits and four RBI.
